 As the rain continues to fall, frantic calculations are taking place in the timing hut to work out possible new timetables. But with the weather currently showing no signs of letting up, drivers are unsure if they will be able to take to the track at all today.
With 150 drivers in attendance, this fully-booked event is the largest Off Road Electric European Championships for many years. All the expected stars are present and hoping to make the A final and have a shot at becoming European Champion. |
 The format of the event should see 2WD qualifying take place today, with the Finals tomorrow (Wednesday). Thursday will see the drivers switch to their 4WD cars and practise, with qualifying taking place Friday and the 4WD Finals on Saturday.
The organisers are confident they can now get the track dried up enough to run the one round of official Controlled Practise required by the rules to sort the start order for the Qualifying heats. Should this be the case, the officials will then plan to squeeze in as many qualifying rounds as possible tomorrow morning. |
 After yesterdays practise, the expected names finished at the top of the timing sheets, with the likes of Austrian drivers Peter Pinisch and Hupo Honigl, German stars Jorn Neumann and Marc Rheinard along with a number of British drivers including Lee Martin, Paul Bradby and Neil Cragg all featuring in the top places though the timing at this point was still unofficial. |
